BBC News - Police drop Network Private Hire objections: "Strathclyde Police has confirmed that it is dropping its licensing objections against a taxi firm it had previously claimed was linked to gangland crime.
Network Private Hire is now almost certain to be granted its operators licence by Glasgow City Council.
It was rejected in April on the grounds that a convicted criminal was benefitting from the firm.
Network, which has won several high-profile public sector taxi contracts, is understood to have severed all ties with the person."
