Latin American Herald Tribune - Mexico Expands Search for Murdered American’s Body: "Mexican government has “intensified” the search for the body of an American murdered by gunmen on the Mexican side of a lake shared by the two countries, the Foreign Relations Secretariat said.

Mexico is using trained searchers, boats and helicopters to search for the body of David Hartley in the Falcon International Reservoir, which straddles the U.S.-Mexican border, the secretariat said.

The Mexican government is committed to “investigating the death of the U.S. citizen in the Falcon Reservoir,” located in the border state of Tamaulipas, where the Gulf and Los Zetas drug cartels have been battling for control of smuggling routes into the United States, the secretariat said.

Hartley and his wife, Tiffany, who live in McAllen, Texas, were riding jet skis on Sept. 30 at the reservoir when they were attacked and chased by men aboard a boat, the victim’s wife told police.

Hartley was shot in the head, Tiffany Hartley, who managed to escape to Texas, said."
